From Jan. 2005 to present, MIE has modeled for master-painter, ALEX KATZ (click to read interview), who produced so far 10 portraits of her. One of the paintings was featured in ART & ANTIQUE Magazine in Jan. 2006. Another portrait of Mie was purchased by the family of the famous Romanian sculptor, Constantin Brancuci.

Fashion theme portraits with Christie Turlington was featured in the exhibition, "FASHION'" in Jan. 2009 at Thaddaeus Ropac Gallery in Paris. The painting, "Homage to Utamaro" became the catalogue cover for Alex Katz's 40yrs retrospective museum show which traveled the world in 2009.

Other runway experience includes a L'OREAL Color Trophy Hair Show (Japan)
, Joynoelle's NY fashion week 2006 and 2007.

Selected as one of the five feature models for the launch issue of Harvard-student-launched, NEU MAGAZINE (NY spring 2007.)

NY fashion week 2008, David Arquett and Ben Harper launched new line, Propr.( http://www.proprclothing.com)
NY fashion week 2009, Project runway finalist, Korto Momolu.



Talent activities:

In 2010, Movie, "Sex and the City 2" extra as Upscale Shopper outside of Bergdorf Goodman.

In 2004, Mie acted in an Independent FILM, director Robert Abrams, which was broadcasted on TV (NY).

In November, 2006, in a production of former CEO of MTV networks' VH1, Ed Benett, Mie formed a singing & dancing unit, TAKAHIRO X MIE, with the 2006 APOLLO Theater world record champion dancer, TAKAHIRO. Takahiro and Mie share the same 4 languages-French, Chinese, English and Japanese-and performed the recitation of various poems from those languages.

 





 


Art (Curator) Activities:





Her art activities include a fine art degree and subsequent internship at CHRISTIE'S NY Auction House, where she worked in the Japanese art department for about a year.
She also helped Julia Meech (A prominent art historian and senior consultant to Chiristie's) in her research for her publication, "Frank Lloyd Wright and the Art of Japan." The book was published in
conjunction with the exhibition, "Frank Lloyd Wright and the Art of Japan" at Japan Society Gallery.

After that, she worked for several years at ISE Cultural Foundation Gallery in SOHO, NY helping to organize many art projects and exhibitions. During her term at ISE, the gallery held exhibitions and artist-talk events for artists such as Alex Katz, Yoko Ono, LinYilin, Mariko Mori, Kunie Sugiura.

In 2005, MIE curated a fashion & Art exhibition at ISE, in collaboration with NY fashion designer, b. Michael who acted as a juror. The winning designer then took part in a fashion show at the exhibition opening.
MIE has also independently curated shows and organized parties and events in Hong Kong and NY. Artists include Rainer Ganahl, Lin Yilin, Nayia Frangouli and many more.

Organized Eikoh Hosoe's celebration party/ exhibition for lucie Photography Award in 2006.

Interpreteur for Tadanori Yokoo at his exhibition in NY in 2008.

Oct.3. 2009, Curator for THE DROP URBAN ART INFILL EXHIBITION [2012+] (with co-curator, Alexandra Chang.)Artists include: Yoko Ono, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Paul D. Miller (A.K.A. DJ Spooky) and Mamoru Oshii.
